Since joining the India squad for the Australia tour starting October 19, all eyes have been on Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. The two former captains are playing only in ODIs this series, which makes each appearance on the field even more special for fans. That excitement was captured perfectly in a heartwarming moment in Perth, where the Indian team is currently training. A young fan managed to get Kohli’s autograph and could barely contain his joy, running around in sheer delight after meeting his idol.

Both spent close to 30 minutes batting, showcasing the form and intensity that have made them legends of the game. Rohit was also seen having a long conversation with head coach Gautam Gambhir after his time in the nets, reflecting the duo’s ongoing commitment to the team. The pair retired from Tests earlier this year and had stepped away from India’s T20 setup after winning the World Cup in Barbados last year. This series could very well be their final tour in Australia, and while their participation in the 2027 World Cup remains uncertain and dependent on form and fitness, new captain Shubman Gill has expressed confidence in their experience and leadership. For fans, though, moments like the young boy getting Kohli’s autograph serve as a reminder of the lasting impact these two superstars have, both on and off the field.
