Miles Bridges plays for the Charlotte Hornets.
American basketball player Miles Bridges has been fined $50,000 for hitting a girl with his mouthpiece. The incident occurred during Wednesday’s National Board of Accreditation (NBA) game as Bridges’ Charlotte Hornets lost to the Hawks 103-132 at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena.
Bridges received two technical fouls and was ejected for arguing a goaltending call. As he was heading to the locker room, the NBA player was heckled by a fan. He then threw his mouthpiece into the stands, which hit a young woman.

Sethu apologized again for the incident and after Thursday’s game. A 10-second clip of the incident has been viewed more than 3.4 million times.
“Last night I lost my cool with a lot of things,” Bridges said in a news conference after the game on Wednesday. “I don’t usually behave like this and it was embarrassing on my part and for the organization.”
The basketball player also said that he is ready to take “full responsibility” and any punishment imposed by the league.
“I targeted the guy who was yelling at me, and it hit a little girl, so it’s definitely unacceptable on my part and I take full responsibility. The NBA is prepared for any consequences,” Bridges said.
He also expressed his desire to contact the young woman so that she could apologise.
“Someone contact me young lady. This is unacceptable,” Sethu tweeted In response to the video going viral on social media.
The fine was announced by the NBA on Thursday, and Bridges said he took full responsibility for anything that “came my way from the league.”
Meanwhile, the Hornets’ public relations department said they are trying to get Bridges to contact the young fan.
