The Cameroon Association of Football 7-A-Side has officially launched its activities in Yaoundé, the political capital of Cameroon. Following the successful launch in Ngaoundéré last Sunday, the association energized the Omnisport Annex Stadium with a press conference and an exhibition match that highlighted the unique skills, techniques, and drills specific to the discipline.
The Centre Zonal Bureau of the Cameroon Association of Football 7-A-Side brought together more than ten media houses based in Yaoundé for the event. During the press conference, Executive Director Philemon Mbale responded to a series of insightful questions from journalists regarding the association, its objectives, and its strategic plan.
In his responses, the Director provided detailed explanations and outlined the association’s vision and roadmap. He also announced three international competitions scheduled for 2026 in which Cameroon will be represented in Football 7-A-Side, including the World Cup to be hosted in Honduras in May 2026. He further emphasized that zonal bureaus have now been established in all ten regions of Cameroon, a major milestone in the nationwide development of the discipline.
The highlight of the event was an exhibition match between Nkolimana FC and Grassfield United. Official match formalities were conducted by the representative of the Governor of the Centre Region, alongside officials from the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education. The match showcased speed, quick transitions, juggling, and dribbling skills, ending in a goalless draw.
The association’s launch caravan will continue in Douala on Saturday, December 20. The Littoral Zonal Bureau will host the event at the Stade de Bonamoussadi, where a similar program is expected to attract a large audience.
