    Nitish Kumar Reddy makes ODI debut, receives cap from Rohit Sharma in Perth

    Nitish Kumar Reddy officially joined India’s ODI squad on Sunday, receiving his ODI cap from Rohit Sharma at Optus Stadium in Perth. The moment marked a major milestone in the young all-rounder’s career, as he prepared to make his debut in the 50-over format.Perth has already been a special place for Nitish. It was here that he made his Test debut in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, receiving his Test cap from Virat Kohli in 2024. He immediately made an impact with a crucial 41 in the first innings. Nitish went on to play all five Tests in the series, including a memorable century at the MCG, cementing his reputation as one of India’s most promising talents.

    On the same day, Australia also celebrated its debutants. Matt Renshaw and Mitch Owen were presented with their ODI caps. After 223 long days, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are finally back in action for India, bringing their experience and firepower to the top of the order.
