MUMBAI: V Chamundeswaranath has replaced former India captain Dilip Vengsarkar as the players’ representative on the Apex Council of the BCCI. He was earlier a member of the Governing Council of the IPL, a position that has now been taken over by former India women’s team captain Shubhangi Kulkarni. Kulkarni was previously on the Apex Council as the women’s nominee. Vengsarkar completed his three-year term, which began in 2022, on the Apex Council. The Indian Cricketers’ Association (ICA) General Elections 2025 were held on October 15 and 16. Former India women’s team captain Shantha Rangaswamy has been elected as the first-ever president of the ICA.
Chamundeswaranath, a former Andhra captain, comes into the Governing Council in place of Dilip Vengsarkar. “This election marks a notable moment for the ICA, with two women now serving on the ICA Board, and for the first time, a female president and a female nominee to the IPL Governing Council — reflecting the Association’s commitment to inclusive representation and progressive leadership,” the ICA said in a statement.
